Random Acts of Artists Inc.
Random Acts of Artists Inc. (RAA) is a non-profit group of creative individuals located in Western Pennsylvania and Eastern Ohio who are involved in all areas of the arts. Our members represent some of the area’s finest talents in fine art, theater, music, dance, design and crafts. This group began in the spring of in 2014 as a small group of a about dozen artists. The motivation was the belief that bringing artists together through communication and cooperation could benefit the artists as individuals and ultimately the communities in which they live.

Butler Institute of American Art
The Butler Art Institute offers a wide array of visual arts programs for people of all ages, including tours; outreach to schools, libraries and nursing homes; free lectures; a free Film on Art series; art classes for children and adults; family programs; an annual Summer Visual Arts Day Camp for children; and an interactive space for families.

Opera Western Reserve
Opera Western Reserve considers itself primarily an educational institution. The Young Artists Company, a troupe of six to eight singers and accompanists, take their educational outreach program, Fun with Opera, to schools in the Tri-county area. This program has been completely underwritten and is offered at no charge. These singers also appear in concert for various local organizations and play supporting roles in our Main Stage productions.

Thomases Art Gallery
The Thomases Family Endowment of the Youngstown Area Jewish Federation Art Gallery is located in the main hall of Jewish Community Center of Youngstown, on the first floor adjacent to the multi-purpose room. The gallery hosts 6-7 exhibitions per year, highlighting the work of regional artists.

Literary Arts
Lit Youngstown
Lit Youngstown is focused on the literary arts: honing craft; publishing; performing; and engaging with literature. Classes and workshops are taught by skilled writers. A monthly First Wednesday Series prose and poetry reading with a visiting author is followed by an open mic. A monthly Writers Circle Critique Group allows writers to give and receive close feedback in a supportive and respectful environment. Food for Thought, a monthly book club, hosts discussion on books of fiction, non-fiction and poetry. And numerous collaborations and events aim for a rich menu of literary offerings.

Arms Family Museum
Greystone, the magnificent Arts & Crafts style residence of Olive A. and Wilford P. Arms, is preserved a century later as The Arms Family Museum of Local History. On the first floor, in original period rooms, experience the Arms’ love of handicraft, medieval architecture and design, and the natural environment. The lower level and second floor feature dynamic exhibits that explore the history of all the people who have lived in the Mahoning Valley.

Butler Institute of American Art

John Stark Edwards House & Trumbull County Museum
Built in 1807, the Edwards House is the oldest wood framed home in Warren, Ohio. Several rooms in the Edwards House depict the lives of its residents at various periods, from pioneer days to the late nineteenth century.

Lanterman’s Mill
One of Mahoning County’s most historic landmarks, Lanterman’s Mill was built in 1845-46 by German Lanterman and Samuel Kimberly. Restored in 1982-85 through a gift from the Ward and Florence Beecher Foundations, this community treasure represents one of the many pioneer industries developed along Mill Creek and operates today as it did in the 1800s, grinding corn, wheat, and buckwheat.

The McKinley Birthplace Museum
The museum is operated by the National McKinley Birthplace Memorial Association; collections feature memorabilia from the Civil and Spanish American wars, objects from McKinley’s campaigns and presidencies and from the building of the memorial.

The National Packard Museum

Tyler History Center
The Tyler History Center houses the Historical Society’s archival library, galleries for local history exhibits, a ballroom available for events, and the Anne Kilcawley Christman Educational Resource center, which houses a gallery and classrooms for curriculum based and public programming.

In 2004, a dedicated group of opera lovers decided to create Youngstown’s own opera company. Warren Philharmonic Orchestra
Warren Philharmonic Orchestra, under Music Director and Conductor Susan Davenny Wyner, has received raves from its audiences and media critics alike. The Philharmonic has been awarded eight successive grants by the Ohio Arts Council for its excellence in programming, one of only three orchestras in Northeast Ohio to be so honored. The orchestra is composed of some of the area’s finest professional musicians, performing two public concerts each year and a series of instructional concerts for area elementary and middle school students. The orchestra sponsors the Art in Music Contest and provides violin instruction to Trumbull County students in grades 3 through 7 through the Strings of Joy program.

Stambaugh Auditorium is a non-profit public auditorium which opened in 1926 through the generous gift of Youngstown area businessman, Henry H. Stambaugh. The facility is located on Fifth Avenue across from Wick Park in Youngstown, Ohio.
